Big grins from us all
In slow motion.
Alone on the kitchen floor.
Sticky feet and hands
And cold wet cheeks,
It's not so bad in the after glow.
There's a light in the living room,
It lights your face
In a glow of haze.
Blue and white coming over you
And you're okay,
To me you are.
It's not that bad.
The place where you have gone.
The place where I am from.
Where everyone ends up.
And no one is alone.
You walk backwards to the stairs.
It's all or nothing and we're halfway.
The blankets drawn up on the chin
It's over now.
Round and round it goes, and we can see clearly the good of days.
Back and forth it goes, and we can remember the good of days.
It's not that bad.
