Oh what an age we live in
Where chat rooms and television
iPods, IM, e-mail, and cell phones
Ensure that I should never feel alone

So why do I feel more isolated than ever?
And with every ring of my cell phone I feel more like a prisoner
I'm chained to technology, tied down by the modern age
Computers are the masters and humanity's enslaved

How ironic that modern day convenience
Only brings more tension and strife
As I reflect that I have more friends on Myspace
Then I have time to make in real life

And now our future consists of lonely people
Who spend their whole lives in basements all alone
Because with online shopping, cyber sex and virtual reality
There's no reason to ever leave the home
